HyperX has been making RAM since 2002, but they’ve recently expanded into other gaming accessories including HyperX keyboards. Many esports teams and streamers enjoy using them. Pokimane, for example, prefers the HyperX Alloy FPS, while Lirik prefers the HyperX Alloy Elite RGB.

Secondary functionalities are printed on the stock double shot PBT keycaps so you can immediately discover additional functionality. It boasts complete RGB illumination with a highly configurable brightness level, allowing you to set the minimum brightness to 1%, which is unusual for a keyboard.
Because the click latency is so minimal, it should feel quite responsive while gaming. With HyperX NGENUITY software, you can configure your keyboard with macros, customizable lighting profiles, and more. It does not come with a wrist rest, despite the fact that it has two incline settings.

HyperX Alloy Origins
- HyperX Mechanical Switches rated for 80 million keystrokes
- Full aircraft-grade aluminum body
- Compact, portable design with detachable cable
The compact and quality construction of the HyperX Alloy Origins makes it the best gaming keyboard for mainstream gamers who just want to get started. It is comfortable with a premium look and feel, from its keys to its sound. frame and its vibrant RGB lighting. If you are familiar with linear switches, you will feel right at home with the red switches on this keyboard.
Measuring 1.4 x 17.4 x 5.2 inches (36.4 x 442.5 x 132.5 mm) and weighing 2.4 pounds (1.075 g), the Alloy Origins is compact enough for a mechanical keyboard of normal size. And a detachable braided USB-C cable (measuring almost six feet long) helps make the keyboard more user-friendly. The slim aluminum shell is attractive and strong, while giving the exposed switches and keys a nice reflective surface, resulting in bright and attractive lighting effects.
Alloy Origins represents HyperX’s first foray into manufacturing its own mechanical switches. The HyperX Red Switch is, like the Cherry MX Red, it approximates, a fast-acting linear switch. Its actuation point and the total stroke of the keys are slightly lower than those of Cherry: the HyperX keys work at 1.8 mm against 2 mm for Cherry Reds and the back at 3.8 mm against 4 mm. (This requires a slightly deeper push than Razer’s yellow capillary trigger switch, which activates at 1.2mm and descends to 3.5mm at full push.)
The Alloy Origins uses HyperX’s still-beta configuration software, NGenuity, to reset keys, create macros, and customize RGB keyboard lighting. Like Alloy Origins, NGenuity looks quite sleek, and the user interface is mostly clear on how to change functions. You can preview, for example, on the on-screen display, what the lighting changes will look like.
While its custom switches aren’t worth getting excited about and there isn’t much else in terms of groundbreaking features here, HyperX’s Alloy Origins keyboard still manages to flirt with the Excellency. The keys and the frame are both top quality. The RGB lighting is about as vivid and bright as it gets, and the overall design is compact and comfortable to use. This is the Best HyperX Keyboard in 2023.

The Elite 2 is a more rugged version of HyperX’s thinner and lighter Alloy Origins and Origins Core TKL keyboards. Instead of an aluminum frame, the Elite 2 has a sturdier steel frame, giving it weight to hold it in place on your desk. A thick braided cable is attached to the back and there is a USB 2.0 port for your wired gaming mouse or wireless receiver.
The included HyperX software makes customizations easy and you can produce some incredibly funky effects from this keyboard … or just keep it simple and subtle, it’s up to you. The solid steel frame and HyperX mechanical switches also provide a pleasant and sturdy typing experience. With USB 2.0 pass-through, anti-ghosting technology and fun N-key rollover functionality, along with cross-platform compatibility, it’s worth a spot on the shortlist for the best gaming keyboards around.
The Alloy Elite 2 shares much of its design, thought process, and functionality with those that came before it, but in our minds HyperX changed everything that was beneficial to do so! We lost the extra silver keycaps, and we lost a wrist rest, but with the Alloy Elite 2 we don’t need either! With what you gain by moving away from Cherry MX switches, around thirty million extra strokes per key as the most significant advantage, how can you complain? The PCB design is new to accommodate both additional RGB and HyperX switches.
Quality control is excellent inside and out. We’ve even found a more contemporary MCU model that controls everything, and we’re just getting started. There is the move to the Microsoft Store as other manufacturers are doing recently for software. The RGB LED lighting system provides intense brightness, which is not only fully customizable, but looks fantastic thanks to the Pudding (style) key set. In the brightest lights or in the darkest rooms, the HyperX Alloy Elite 2 is undoubtedly fantastic.
HyperX has taken everything good from previous keyboards and added a set of pudding-style keys to take the aesthetic and flood of RGB LEDs to a new level. For us, things aren’t much better when it comes to mechanical gaming keyboards! This is the Best HyperX Keyboard for Gaming in 2023.
HyperX Alloy FPS Pro Tenkeyless Mechanical Gaming Keyboard
- Ultra-minimalistic ten keyless design ideal for FPS pros
- Solid steel frame provides durability and stability
- Cherry MX mechanical keys for reliability
The HyperX Alloy FPS Pro is a decent gaming keyboard with impressive build quality. The Cherry MX Red variant we tested offers a great typing experience; it’s light and responsive, while minimizing typing noise. Unfortunately, even though this keyboard is backlit, it’s limited to a single red color and there’s no customization software. Overall, it’s a keyboard designed for those who only need the bare minimum; if you need more features, you might want to take a look at the origins of HyperX Alloy.
The design of the Alloy FPS RGB is similar to that of other HyperX keyboards, with the keys perched on a flat metal platter. The metal layer of the FPS Pro seems a bit thinner than that of the Alloy Elite, and the base below is plastic, but there is a steel frame inside. The resulting sensation is dense and stiff with a lot of weight: almost two pounds. That’s a good amount of weight for such a small keyboard. It includes Cherry MX switches in your choice of red, blue, or brown.
The build quality is excellent. The frame is plastic on the bottom with a steel plate on the top. The board has a bit of flex, but the overall construction feels pretty sturdy. The keycaps are made of high quality ABS plastic, and the kickstands are strong. The typing quality is excellent. It’s light and responsive and shouldn’t cause fatigue over time. Although the keys are in ABS, they are pleasant to type; however, the space bar has a slight wobble. It feels very similar to the HyperX Alloy Origins, but just a bit heavier due to the higher actuation force.
Until now, the whole way HyperX has worked has been to remove the sham and excess from gaming peripherals, and instead make them streamlined and accessible. The Alloy FPS Pro demonstrates that the company can do smart subtraction of its products, if necessary, instead of additions. While I miss the inconspicuous multimedia keys and palm rest, the Alloy FPS isn’t here to be your everyday work companion; he’s here to help you hone your tournament skills and maybe even win one.
The red backlighting limits the device’s aesthetic appeal, and its lack of reprogrammable buttons could be a downside for die-hard customizers. Still, the Alloy FPS Pro does exactly what it was designed to do, and at a reasonable price. It might not make you a better FPS player, but it will make you feel comfortable while you are playing. This is the Best HyperX Keyboards 2023.
