The Acer Predator X35 monitor is based on a 35 ″ AMVA (Advanced Multi-domain Vertical Alignment) panel from AU Optronics with UWQHD resolution of 3440 × 1440, refresh rate of 200 Hz and support for color depth 10 bit framed. It uses a QDEF (Quantum Dot Enhanced Film) layer, which allows it to extend its color gamut to 90% DCI-P3 for more realistic and vibrant colors. You’ll also find sRGB mode, which limits color output to ~ 100% sRGB in case you want a more accurate color representation of sRGB content. Additionally, it has a peak brightness of 600 nits, which increases by around 1000 nits for HDR-compatible content, earning it the DisplayHDR 1000 certification from VESA.

The monitor stand is sturdy and versatile with up to 130mm height adjustment, +/- 30 ° rotation, -5 ° / 25 ° tilt, and 100x100mm VESA mounting compatibility. Connectivity options include DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.0, four USB 3.0 ports (3 downstream + 1 upstream), a headphone jack, and two built-in 4W speakers. Note that HDMI 2.0 is limited to 100Hz at 3440 × 1440. The G-SYNC module also requires a cooling fan, which has an annoying ramp-up noise on this monitor. The in-game audio will drown out the noise, but if you like to play quietly, it can be frustrating. This is a big upgrade on the Acer Predator x27.

Predator X35 really looks like the cutting edge Predator experience available today. If you’re not a fan of the ultra-wide gaming format, there probably aren’t many here that will convert you, but for ultra-wide enthusiasts like me, there just isn’t one. another monitor capable of doing what the X35 does. That said, if you’re just looking to play in an ultra-wide format at a high refresh rate, there are more budget options available, such as the $ 799 MSI Optix MPGCQR341, which does almost everything the Predator X35 can. – up to 144 Hz, anyway.

But for die-hard gamers, this Predator packs pretty much all of the juicy features of the monitor market into one unit. If you’ve got a high credit limit and you’re waiting for ultra-wide gaming screens to break through the 144Hz hurdle (and jump straight to 200Hz in the process), don’t wait another second.

Now we have with us the new Asus ROG Strix XG27UQ, which is one of the first displays to be released to use VESA’s new Display Stream Compression (DSC) technology. This, according to VESA, provides “visually lossless” compression over a single DisplayPort connection, allowing you to operate the display at 4k, 144Hz, and 10-bit in full RGB color as long as you have a DSC-compatible graphics card. The screen maintains the same 3840 x 2160 resolution with a native 144Hz refresh rate of previous models. Adaptive-sync is also supported for variable refresh rates of NVIDIA G-sync and AMD FreeSync systems. Asus has also added its ELMB motion blur reduction backlight mode, and there are familiar ROG features like Aura Sync RGB lighting and a range of settings and gaming features to play with. This model doesn’t have the FALD HDR backlight of the PG27UQ, so there’s no real HDR support to speak of, but that of course means it’s a more affordable option.

It’s colorful and bright, HDR400 compatible, and has a ridiculous 1 millisecond response time. However, we did notice that HDR tends to automatically dim content, not using all of the screen’s potential brightness. Also, there are no speakers, which is inconvenient given the high price tag, and the bezels are a bit thick. But overall, if you’re looking for one of the best gaming monitors for under $ 1,000, the Asus ROG Strix XG27UQ is it. the ViewSonic Elite XG270 (277 nits). When I said this beast was colorful, I wasn’t exaggerating. The Strix XG27UQ covers 108% of the DCI-P3 color gamut, which is above its projected 90% rating.

It’s hard to argue against the Asus ROG Swift PG27UQ (around $ 1,272) being one of the most technically advanced models available. In addition to an average brightness of 600 nits and a peak value of 1000 nits, it has 384 local dimming zones that deliver an impressive level of dynamic contrast.

The Samsung Odyssey G9 delivers an incredibly immersive gaming experience thanks to its ultra-ultra-wide 32: 9 aspect ratio with a high screen resolution of 5120 × 1440, 240 Hz refresh rate and response time fast of 1 ms GtG.

AMD’s FreeSync Premium Pro and NVIDIA G-SYNC compatible are supported over DisplayPort with a VRR range of 60 to 240 Hz. Additionally, to get 5120 × 1440 at 240 Hz, you will need an AMD graphics card Navi or NVIDIA Turing (or newer) with DisplayPort 1.4 DSC support. Otherwise, you’ll be limited to 120Hz at 5120 × 1440.

It can be quite expensive and requires a killer gaming PC setup to work, but the Samsung CRG9 is definitely worth it if you have the extra cash. This larger-than-average 49-inch has thinner bezels than most gaming monitors and a frame-by-frame mode feature that lets you use two different inputs, simulating a two-monitor setup in one monitor. And, not to mention that the Samsung CRG9 produces a stunning image right out of the box.

The BenQ EX3501R is a unique ultra-wide curved gaming monitor that brings exclusive features like Brightness Intelligence Plus technology, entry-level HDR support, and USB-C to the already attractive set of specifications. such as 3440 × 1440 resolution and AMD FreeSync up to 100Hz.

The EX3501R goes beyond casual entertainment and adds a 35-inch 1800R curved ultra-wide screen with Vertical Alignment (VA) technology and 3440×1440 resolution. In terms of speed, it surpasses any HDR monitor we’ve reviewed so far, including BenQ’s EW3270U and EW277HDR. And the aspect ratio screams throughout the game. While 100Hz isn’t the fastest ultra-wide we’ve seen, 100 frames per second (fps) shouldn’t be too hard to achieve with the native resolution of this monitor.

Like the other top entries on this list, the collection of premium features makes the EX3501R ideal for photo editing, movie watching, and gaming. Its combination of an excellent 2,500: 1 contrast ratio, 300 nits brightness, 100% sRGB color gamut support and HDR make it look fantastic no matter what. you do. FreeSync support even prevents the screen from tearing without affecting performance.

The BenQ EX3501R delivers a smooth, immersive experience in fast-paced action titles. It supports HDR10 very well, but doesn’t offer as much contrast as some of the competition and has a bit less color saturation in HDR mode. For SDR hardware however, it has few equals. While there are faster screens, few of them look this good.
