Samsung CHG70 is machined with a standard 1800R curvature. It’s a light and subtle high, but hard to ignore. As cool as that is, this is the 1440p QLED where this panel shines. Samsung hit those ever-important gaming goals with a 1ms response time and 144Hz refresh rate (with the option to lock that down to 60Hz and 120Hz for those who don’t need to press on the problem).
This is a vertically aligned (VA) panel, which means it sits somewhere between IPS and TN in terms of color reproduction, contrast, and other image qualities. In fact, the CHG70 has a contrast ratio of 3000: 1, which is simply remarkable for any monitor. Full HDR10 support is also rare to see on a non-4K, high-end or other display. However, VA technology also typically has slower response times than other panel types, so maybe don’t bend over if you have esports aspirations.
Samsung includes a pair of HDMI ports, a DisplayPort, and two USB 3.0 ports on the back. This is where you’ll also find an ergonomic stand unlike anything we’ve seen before. It’s almost akin to a robotic arm, and adjusting the height of the screen is a matter of moving that arm forward and backward. It is for this reason that the desk footprint is larger than most other monitors, so you might want to stay away if you don’t have a lot of desk space behind. You can tilt and rotate the thing as well, and there’s a VESA mount bracket for those who want to get rid of the bracket altogether.
