- 13 hr. Battery: powering 13 whopping hours of killer sound, The long lasting battery sees you through day...
The UE WONDERBOOM 2 is the greatest Bluetooth shower speaker. This little speaker is well-made, with an IP67 rating for dust and water protection. The maker claims it can even be submerged in water, though we haven’t tested it. It also offers a superb and large soundstage because to its 360-degree construction.
It has a well-balanced sound profile out of the box, making it perfect for listening to a wide range of audio content. It also includes an EQ preset called ‘Outdoor Mode,’ which helps increase the bass in your audio. It also boasts an excellent battery life, lasting just under 13 hours on a single charge, making it ideal for marathon listening sessions.
Unfortunately, it does not enable voice assistants, which might be frustrating for customers who rely on them for assistance on a regular basis. It, like other speakers of its size, struggles to reproduce low bass with the deep thump and rumble that listeners of bass-heavy music enjoy, and it lacks any audio customizing tools save from its ‘Outdoor Mode’ preset. However, if you’re looking for a good speaker to use in the shower, this is still a fantastic option.
JBL Charge 5 Portable Bluetooth Speaker with Deep Bass
- JBL Pro Sound with an optimized long excursion driver, separate tweeter and dual JBL bass radiators
- Long lasting battery delivers up to 20 hours of playtime
- Take the Charge with you anywhere due to its IP67 waterproof and dustproof rating
The JBL Charge 5 is the most recent addition to the company’s long-running Bluetooth speaker range. JBL has tended to add a little more to the Charge’s capabilities with each generation. With the Charge 5, it makes a few minor tweaks, particularly to the design, as well as streamlining several functionalities.
As a consequence, you get a simple but durable portable Bluetooth speaker that sounds excellent enough to compete with the top waterproof speakers on the market. It is, nevertheless, more expensive than speakers with even greater quality and additional functionality.
JBL also changed the form and size of the speaker. It’s somewhat smaller and plumper in the middle than the Charge 4, measuring 8.7 x 3.8 x 3.7 inches. The passive bass radiators are housed in end caps that are carved at a little slant, similar to the JBL Flip 5. If you want to stand the speaker on one end instead of laying it flat, this gives it a bit more aesthetic flair, but it also causes it to tilt like the Tower of Pisa.
Anker Soundcore Flare 2
No products found.
The Anker Soundcore Flare 2 is the greatest shower speaker for a low price. Although we don’t currently test for water resistance, this little Bluetooth speaker with RGB lights is rated IPX7. You may also connect it to another compatible speaker to create a stereo pair, or to numerous other speakers to fill a big space with sounds without having to turn up the volume.
It has a well-balanced mid-range with its default EQ and BassUp features activated, so voices and lead instruments sound clear and present in the mix, however higher-pitched vocals and instruments may sound a little dull. It struggles to reproduce low-bass, like most small speakers, so you won’t hear the pounding and rumble in bass-heavy songs like EDM. Fortunately, the program’s companion app has a graphic EQ and presets for customizing the sound. Due to its 360-degree shape, it also possesses exceptional directivity, resulting in an open and natural-sounding soundstage.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t go very loud, and there’s some compression at maximum volume, so your audio won’t sound as crisp at higher volumes. Furthermore, while it works with voice assistants via your smartphone, its performance isn’t great. It’s still a terrific alternative if you’re searching for a speaker that’s well-suited for playing music in the shower at a more reasonable price.
JBL Charge 3
- Bluetooth - Wirelessly connect up to 3 smartphones or tablets to the speaker and take turns playing...

You can submerge your JBL Charge under water and still hear the music just fine. JBL Charge is made of a soft plastic material that protects it and gives it a good grip. It’s also fairly compact. On the bottom of your JBL Charge, you’ll find a series of lights that indicate how much battery power you’re left with. Meanwhile, the USB port is safely hidden behind a rubber flap.
The Bluetooth range is moderate, giving you an easy 60 feet without obstructions. It’ll reduce to 30 feet if you do have a wall or other objects in front of you, but even then, the sounds don’t crackle or break up. The playback controls here allow you to pause and skip music. You can also raise and lower the volume with the same button. The battery life is good with a 20-hour playback time. Sound quality of JBL Charge is good as you can listen to your music on the highest volume and the drums will never pierce through the speakers.
This is one of the best speakers you can find, period. But is ideal as a shower speaker. All the good things about this shower speaker have been amplified in the shower, especially the sound. It may be tempting to get the new Charge 4, but the only difference is the JBL Connect + compatibility. Otherwise, charge 3 is lighter, smaller and equal to charge 4. Like most of JBL’s new Bluetooth speakers, the Charge 3 is covered with a waterproof fabric that gives it an IPX7 waterproof rating. You can submerge it completely if you want, but I’m not sure why you would. Charge 3 also has a USB output (hence the name) for charging your devices. This will drain the battery a bit faster, but don’t worry. It won’t be a problem to lose two or three hours to charge your phone faster: more than 20 hours per charge is enough.
It’s a stunning combination of great sound and long lasting battery life, JBL Charge 3 is the Best Shower Speakers in 2023.

- SPEAKERPHONE: You can answer your phone without disconnecting from the Hang Up. Hang Up knows when a call...
The Jam Hang Up is made of a soft plastic material that leaves it resistant to wear and tear. The best part is that the silicone panel in the back features a sticky pad, so you can attach the Hang Up to the bathroom walls if you like. We were surprised how strong the adhesive was. It doesn’t fall from the wall, even if you’re blowing steam in the shower. The playback controls are large and well-placed around the plastic borders. The Bluetooth system is just satisfactory, although that shouldn’t dampen your expectations because this speaker does come with an aux cord to ensure your music keeps playing.
The Hang Up boasts a 2-in-1 handsfree calling feature, so your music will temporarily pause when a call is incoming and will resume playing once you’re done talking. The battery life is long-lasting and offers great sound quality for a bargain price. The speaker claims to be dust- and water-resistant, but it can only remain submerged in water for 30 minutes. The device works best with the sticky pad; if you place it on the ground, the bass gets muffled. One of the best bluetooth speakers for the price.
Jam Hang Up has a silicone panel that can be removed to reveal a sticky pad, which effectively adheres to any flat surface. On examination, it does not fall from the shower wall. Also, it is easy to clean and if you want to use it as a small living room speaker, cover the adhesive pad with exactly the same silicone flap. The buttons are meant to be fun for a speaker, which is what they are, they are very hard to press. It takes a bit of emphasis, which keeps me away from changing lanes.
In addition, a vertical line between the “X” and “O” buttons that corresponds to the main character of the speaker; Originally I thought it was just a separator for “X” and “O”, but it’s actually a multi-function button. On the flip side, the hang-up has a glossy design that includes the included micro-USB cable; You’ll never be free The speaker also includes auxiliary input that is increasingly rare in speakers of this grade.
What is a Shower Speaker and do you need one?
There used to be a time when many of us would wrap our cell phones in plastic bags just to be able to take them into the shower. Singing your favorite tunes in the shower is a notoriously common habit. There’s just something about the bathroom and being under the shower head that makes your voice echo and hit high notes perfectly. Lucky for us, technology has advanced leaps and bounds over the last several years, and now, it’s possible to continue our karaoke session in the shower without any worries. However, a shower speaker is one of those technologies that do not get the appreciation they deserve. Well, we’re here to change all that. We’ve been doing our research on some of the best shower speakers on the market and think you should invest in at least one of them – that is, if you’re ready to give the walls a performance of a lifetime.
Benefits of the best shower speakers
The best shower speaker is much more than just a music playing device. It’s a travel companion and a handsfree call enabler too. This is why you will have to look beyond the sound quality before making a purchase. Always look for extra features in the models you shortlist because they don’t always come cheap.
It’s true that you get what you pay for, but there are some expensive shower speakers that aren’t waterproof. Additionally, they can drain your battery life really fast if you decide to play your music on loud volume. As disappointing as that can get for your impromptu concert, remember that there are some great bargains in the market that will give you some versatile features. Use this buying guide and go get yourself a shower speaker that lets you sing your heart out!
Things to Consider while buying the best Shower Speakers
Not all shower speakers are built the same. Before you put your hard-earned money on the counter, look for these features to ensure you’re getting the best shower speaker in the market.
Waterproof vs. Water resistant
Although you shouldn’t drop the speaker in water and immerse it, the bathroom gets wet and there is always a risk of getting into the enclosure. So, after the first few experiments, make sure your speaker is waterproof, not water resistant to make sure you don’t go out of your way with the speaker. In the first case, the device will survive after a brief exposure to water, and in the second case, things can become dangerous. Additionally, some speakers assume being submerged in water which is a feature to remember.
If you’re someone who enjoys taking long showers, battery life is something you shouldn’t compromise on. Good battery life will definitely ramp up the costs. For the pricier models, you can expect up to 15 hours of playback on just a single charge, while the cheaper ones can get you up to 8-10 hours at most. Also, take note of the charge and playback ratio. A speaker will be of little use to you if you spend more time charging it than playing it in the shower.
Most shower speakers aren’t studio quality, but that doesn’t mean you need to accept the ones with harsh, piercing audios. Sometimes, the sound quality is impacted by the surface you place your device on. Check if the bass or treble alters too much with surface reflection and try to avoid such models. The sound quality is going to affect the overall price. Make sure you experiment with all the low, medium and high volumes before making the purchase. Avoid models where the battery drains quicker when you play at max volume.
How strong is the Bluetooth range? Most speakers will be able to work at 25 to 35 feet away from your phone, so don’t be surprised by that. If you want a strong wireless, aim for 80 feet and above without obstruction. Also, check if the sounds crackle or become muffled if there are obstacles on the path from the phone to the speaker. In such a case, you will be forced to place your device and speakers at basically the same place each time you use it.
When you’re in the shower, the least you’d expect your shower speaker to do is be waterproof, so don’t compromise on the material. Synthetic plastic or soft rubber exteriors are great because they allow you to grip the object with wet hands. A device that is shock-resistant and dustproof is an added bonus. Even better would be if all your controls are present on the surface of the speaker so that you don’t have to run to your phone each time you want to change a song. If you want something that is multi- purpose, other features like handles and straps will let you mount your speaker anywhere and even let you travel with it.
Many new shower speakers come with a built-in call attending feature. The number one thing you need is for all calls to be attended handsfree. There is no benefit to wireless speakerphone if you have to walk back to your phone with dry hands to receive a call. Try getting a device that can be easily linked to your phone. Also, as an added bonus, it’ll help if your music automatically pauses when you get a call so that you can answer it immediately and once you are done, the music should resume right after. Do check if the sound quality is acceptable in the echo of a bathroom and you can hear your caller with relative clarity.
